Informing her that he is recovering from a "very severe Illness"; paying her compliments; telling her that his father died and his mother is in her "precarious last days of life"; asking her to hurry back to England; discussing letters between them that went missing; mentioning shared acquaintances; commenging on the "rupture of the two Courts" and the subsequent decline in "Gallantry and Gayety"; begging her to write to him more frequently now that she is "come into the region of posts."
